Playscape: A spacious, leafy playground named for the famed poet and neighborhood prince. To one side is an open square surrounded by benches, to the other a playground consisting of two play structures for toddlers and older children, a water play area, four bucket and two sling swings, picnic tables (including two low children’s tables), and plenty of shady trees. There is no sandbox.
Safety notes: There is only one gate for entry and exit on 10th Ave.; the two gates along W. 22nd St. are locked.
Public restrooms: No.
Food & drink: There are plenty of restaurants and food shops along 9th and 10th Aves.
Other info: At Christmastime, neighborhood residents gather in the park to recite The Night Before Christmas.
