Park features: Green space, two sandpits, lots of shade.
Playscape: There is an open lawn at the north end of the park. Directly south are two sand play areas: a small, gated sandbox perfect for younger children, and a large sandpit with a giant metal slide and water play area at the top.
Safety notes: Although the slide is tall, it’s not too fast for small children. However, the top of the slide and the water park are accessible only by climbing stairs or rocks. It is also difficult to watch multiple children who are at the top and bottom of the slide.
Food & drink: The nearest restaurant is Le Pain Quotidien on River Terrace. There are also the restaurants and food shops (including Shake Shack, Payard, Harry’s Italian, Wei West, Pick A Bagel, Beans & Greens, and Battery Place Market) in the lane behind the Goldman Sachs building at 200 West St.
Public restrooms: Yes, in the northwest corner of the Solaire apartment building, on River Terrace between Warren and Murray Sts.
Other info: The Battery Park City branch of the NY Public Library overlooks the southern end of the park.
